Lawyers Wanted: Andrews Ritson Reveal Plans for Expansion
Bridgnorth solicitors Andrews Ritson have unveiled details of their plans to expand over the next few months to meet the demands of their increasing work load.
The firm, based in Faraday Drive, saw a marked increase in private client work last year which led to the recruitment of a conveyancing paralegal and wills, trusts and probate solicitor.
This year there has been a significant influx of new, high quality commercial work across the full range of business support and advice the firm covers. Having developed a reputation for giving clear, cost effective and practical advice, there has been a 20% increase in fees received by the firm for work undertaken for business clients, who include high profile entrepreneurs, investors, property developers, and businesses based in the Midlands but with global operations.

“I am particularly encouraged to report on the increase we have seen in commercial activity here in Shropshire. Despite headline reports of a slowdown in economic growth, we have observed well run businesses who are still active in mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. This year we have helped a software services company take on investment to allow growth in overseas markets, a construction company enter into a joint venture with a European partner which will triple its turnover, and double its return to shareholders, and a management buy out of a FMCG operation, to allow for the further growth plans of its ambitious new owners.”
The range of international work has seen Rob travel abroad this year to help clients negotiate on a global supply framework agreement, at the international HQ of a luxury car manufacturer.
But it’s not just in the corporate sector which has seen an increase in activity. More dispute resolution work has been undertaken. The latest significant instruction involves a multi-party High Court case, involving a worldwide freezing injunction of assets of a tech company entrepreneur. The firm believes this instruction is a recognition of the fact that this level of legal advice and support can be obtained from practices such as Andrews Ritson, and not just city based law firms.

The firm now plans to recruit commercial lawyers to add to its team. Applications are being invited particularly from newly qualified lawyers seeking quality work operating in a small dynamic unit. They are also interested in hearing from paralegals and legal executives, through to senior and experienced solicitors seeking consultancy roles on a fee share basis.
